I love this. I used to think that if I just wanted something enough, like magic it would appear. (I blame ‘The Secret.’) Now I know that the magic happens when you combine equal amounts of wanting and working. That is the only way.
Now I know.

This is soo good. I’ve heard it before but not with this graphic set-up. Beautiful.
This was great. Just today I was looking at some of my old paintings and it made me feel so good to see how far I have come. Am I there yet? Not by a long shot, but hopefully by doing the work, I will be some day. Thank you for a great reminder.
Thank you for sharing Ira’s wisdom. I need to believe just what he’s saying because I am in exactly that spot of having the taste to see what I want but lacking the experience to produce it yet. At least I get to define the problem that way now. In the past, I quit because I thought it was a question of talent or magic rather than work. What a relief to think differently. Talent and magic are not in my control. Work is.
