We all feel inadequate at times, and sandra's words are worth noting...getting rid of that negative talk is the beginning. But darling Megg... you have to love you for you .... are you kind?... does your hubby think you're beautiful?... is your food 80% healthy?... are you keeping in touch with those that are close to you?... than you are doing all you can for now. Superwoman doesn't really exist. Give yourself permission to be 'normal'. Getting older definitely helps with the whole inadequate thing... even the most 'together' looking person has days like yours. Find your sense of personal style and dress the way you love... don't wait to be a certain size before you feel gorgeous ... cos you already are!

I wonder if everyone feels this way at times...the inadequacy from comparing ourselves to other bloggers. (and people in general.)
Sometimes I feel so inspired, and other times I feel sad and defeated....I guess it depends on my mood and state of mind when I start reading.

I love this post Meg. There is so much power in your words. And once again, you describe so perfectly what so many of us feel, making us all feel a little less alone in our struggles.
I love you!!

Please forgive me for being so forward but...the spare room is NOT a good place to store this crap. It needs to be OUT of the house/mind so you can't open the door. So you can't even be tempted to open the door.
Put it all in a trash bag, tie it up tightly and then find a dumpster somewhere and toss it. Do NOT put it in the house trash...you don't want to be tempted to pull the bag out of the trash so you can...
Start playing new tapes in your head. If you don't have any, make them up. Be reasonable, don't say stupid things like "I'm the goddess of the world". That's idiocy. Make reasonable, objectionable, obtainable goals and tapes to support them and play those tapes. Reward yourself when you've achieved even the smallest goal. It can something as simple as time spent on a great book, staring out the window daydreaming good things, sitting in the lawn chair...but it HAS to be something spent on YOU.
The clothes? Give them away or cut them up and make quilts or mini-art quilts or fabric projects.
The books? My trash is your treasure, give them away.
The e-mails and phone calls? Go forward.
The projects? 3-ring notebook and organize.
The food? As with all of life...moderation in all things.
Stop with the beating yourself up; there are plenty, as in way too many, folks standing in line to do that for you. -smile-
Moderation, Woman. Moderation.
